This part of trekking involves very rewarding experiences through unbroken line of stunning peaks, lush forested gorgeous foothills, crashing waterfalls, breathtaking gorges, picturesque lush farmland villages, amazing bamboo wildlife habitats, and very hospitable people. Annapurna Sanctuary is a natural amphitheater created by a ring of high mountains. The centerpiece of this sanctuary is Annapurna I, which stands at 8,091 meters (26,538 feet) tall and emerges out of the magnificent glacier that extends from base camp (trek’s highest point). At the centre of the majestic Annapurna Himalayas, the Sanctuary arena is widely known as “throne rooms of the gods”. With rhododendron ridge of the spectacular peaks ahead, this trek gradually winds its way to incredible spectacle within. This trek passes through a diverse range of climate, vegetation and cultural zones and, at the same time, combines spectacular mountain scenery with a unique cultural diversity. The Annapurna Sanctuary trek, known as the Annapurna Base Camp trek, graciously embraces the close-up grand views of a cluster of thrilling peaks ranging from the great Annapurna Himal, Himchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna, Ganagapurna, Annapurna III, and Machhapuchhare, all of them almost astoundingly arranged precisely in a circle about 10 miles in diameter with a deep glacier-covered amphitheatre at the centre. From this glacier basin (known as the Annapurna Sanctuary), the Modi Khola river knifes its way south in a narrow thrilling gorge 3660m deep. Further south, the gorge opens up into a fabulously wide and fertile valley, the domain of the Gurungs, who are widely known for their hospitality, sincerity and bravery. The inner sanctuary of Annapurna graciously present an incredible panoramic views of 10 stunning peaks over 6000m. The irresistible views of Dhaulagiri peak, and river Kali Gandaki from Poon Hill is unforgettable and splendid. The natural hot spring at Jhinudanda makes the trek most rewarding.
