Day 01 Kathmandu - Arrival transfer | Altitude : 1350M.
Arrive Kathmandu airport (1350mts), met at airport and get transferred to hotel. Drive across the center of Kathmandu city, taking approximate 25 minutes along the busy streets and glimpses of local Nepali market. Upon arrival at the hotel served with welcome drink and a short briefing about the country, and get checked in. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Kathmandu Valley: Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal and is also the largest city of the country. It stands at an elevation of approximately 4,265 ft (1,300 m). It is an urban and suburban area of about 2.5 million inhabitants in the tri-city area in the Kathmandu Valley in central Nepal, along the Bagmati River. The two other cities are Patan and Bhaktapur. Kathmandu is located at 27°43′N 85°22′E (27.71667, 85.36667).The Kathmandu Valley lies at the crossroads of ancient civilizations of Asia, and has at least 130 important monuments, including several places of pilgrimage for the Hindus as well as the Buddhists. The cities of Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur, located in this valley, present a high style of Nepalese art and architecture. Kathmandu valley was accorded the status of a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in the year 1979. It is rich in culture and the valley itself is and has been the cultural and political hub of Nepal.
Day 02 Kathmandu - Full Day sightseeing.

Swayambhunath: Swoyambhu literally means 'Self-Existent One.' Swoyambhunath is believed to have been established more than 2,500 years ago. An inscription dated 460 A.D. states that the construction was carried out by King Manadeva. By the thirteenth century Swoyambhunath had developed into an important Buddhist learning site. The history of Kathmandu Valley is said to have started with the beginning of Swoyambhu. The largest image of the Sakyamuni Buddha in Nepal is in a monastery next to the stupa. Behind the hilltop is a temple dedicated to Manjusri of Saraswati - the goddess of learning. Statues and shrines of Buddhist and Hindu deities dot the stupa complex. Large numbers of Buddhists and Hindus alike visit Swoyambhunath. Swoyambhu is perhaps the best place to observe the religious harmony in Nepal. The stupa is atop a hill, the choice exists of walking uphill stair cases or taking road right up to the base.
Patan Durbar Square: Patan Durbar Square complex, situated in the center of Patan city, about 5 kilometers to the south east of Kathmandu, houses the residence of the former Royal family of Patan. The Square and its surroundings provide very good example of ancient Newari architecture. The palace has three main courtyards the central and the oldest is Mul Chowk, meaning the main courtyard. Krishna Temple, Bhimsen Temple, the Golden Temple of Hiranya Varna Mahavira and Sundari Chowk mark the architectural excellence of its era. Exquisite woodcarvings, stone, and metal sculptures represent the creativity of ancient Nepalese culture.
Day 03 Kathmandu sightseeing.
Boudhanath: The 36-meter-high stupa of Bouddhanath is one of the largest stupas in South Asia. The Stupa was renovated by the Licchavi rulers in the eighth century. The stupa is located in the area of ancient trade route to Tibet where Tibetan merchants rested and offered prayers for many centuries. When refugees entered Nepal from Tibet in the 1950s, many decided to live around Bouddhanath. Hence, a complete township has developed around Bouddhanath. The stupa is said to entomb the remains of a Kasyap sage venerable both to Buddhists and Hindus.
Pashupatinath, 5 km east of downtown Kathmandu along the side of Bagmati river, is the famed biggest holiest temple for Hindus dedicated to Lord Shiva. Pashupatinath Temple, with its astonishing architectural beauty, stands as a symbol of faith, religion, culture and tradition. Regarded as the most sacred temple of Hindu Lord Shiva in the world, The Temple's existence dates back to 400 A.D. The two tier magnificient golden temple with four triple silver doorways is widely known for its superb temple architecture. It is one of the largest Hindu temple complexes in South-Asia with hundreds of Shiva Lingam shrines and icons of Hindu Gods and Goddesses. Hindu pilgrim perform sacred rituals there with the thrilling scene of burning funeral pyres. During the Shivaratri festival (February – March) over 200 thousand devotees and pligrims ,many from India, visit this temple and make ceremonial fires. The Temple has been accorded the prestigious status of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the country. The Temple is recognized with the prestigious status of UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Katmandu Durbar Square: Kathmandu Durbar Square, also known as Basantapur, is in the heart of old city Kathmandu (Durbar meaning Royal Palace in Nepali). The complex was residence to the Royal family before the construction of the Narayanhiti Palace. The founding of the Palace dates back to Licchavi times. With considerable renovations by Malla rulers and later the Ranas, construction was accomplished progressively over many centuries. There are numerous temples in the vicinity including Taleju Bhawani. Kumari Ghar, the residence of the Living Goddess is the major attraction of the site. The Shiva-Parvati Temple, and the inner consisting of Hanuman Dhoka and the main palace, are also additional monuments to Kathmandu Durbar Square.
Day 04 Drive from Kathmandu - Nyalam |183 km |3775m | 6-7 hrs.
After breakfast detailed Tibet trip briefing conducted, drive to the Nepalese border town of Kodari. The custom and immigration formalities are completed there and the Friendship Bridge is crossed on foot. The visitors are then transferred on to Land Crusiers , the sturdy four-wheel-drive vehicles that are controlled and guided by Tibetans. The onward journey into the Tibetan/ Chinese region continues till the town of Zhangmu(2200m) necessitates a halt for Chinese customs checking and clearance, Then we proceed to the small town of Nyalam (3900m) for an Overnight in Guest house.
Day 05 Drive from Nylam – Lo Tingri | 4200m | 150km | 6hrs.
Drive to Xegar crossing thrilling view of the stunning Nyalamu pass and Lalung la pass.This drive offers a fantastic and magnificent view of the high mountains including majestic Mount Everest (8848m) on the Tibetan side (North Face of Everest). Arrive Lo Tingri overnight hotel.
Day 06 Drive from Lo Tingri- Everest Base Camp (5200m)-Xigatse |3900m| 8hrs.
Drive to Xigatse via Everest Base camp, the drive follows a mucky road along the Rumbuk Valley and offers specticular view of himalayan giant, which is about 30 km to reach the base camp, feel the reality of being at the base camp the highest mountain in the world. Shortly we will drive back and make a stop over the Rumbuk Monastery, once the largest and located at the highest alitude monastic center in region, you could pay votive offerings or see lamas playing operas if it is during big Buddhist days.Drive continue to follow the road towards Xigatse where we stop for overnight.
Day 07 Drive from Xigatse – Gyantse |3675km |90km |3 hrs.
In the morning visit the sacred Tashilhunpo Monastery and the free market of Xigatse. We drive through some high passes traversing the amazing Tibetan Landscape, pass the loving and unspoilt villages. The panoramas are some of the most beautiful on our journey. We visit the famous sacred stupa - Gyantse Kumpum, one of the most stunning architectural wonder in Tibet. In the afternoon, in Gyantse we visit the holy Palkhor Temple which was built in the 15th century and is situated west of Gyantse town with mountains enclosing it on the east, west and north sides. Its uniqueness is that the 3 sects of Buddism – Shaja, Ningma and Guolu were able to exist in harmony under one roof. Overnight Gyantse Guest House.
Day 08 Drive from Gyantse-Lhasa |3600m| 245km| 8hrs.
We drive 300km to the city of Lhasa, experience the magnificent “Yamzhog Yumco Lake” as well as the “Kalais Kora Glacier” along the way, also see “Yamdrok Lake” which is like a coiling scorpion. The lake doubles back on itself on the western side, effectively creating a large island within its reaches. For Tibetans, it is one of the 4 holy lakes of Tibet and the home of the “wrathful deities”. The lake lies several hundred metres below the road, and in clear weather is a fabulous shade of deep turquoise. Far in the distance is the huge massif of Mt. Nojin Kangtsang (7191m). Day 09 Lhasa – Full day sightseeing.
Potala Palace: Lying on the Red Hill in Lhasa City, Potala Palace is regarded as the symbol of Lhasa, noted for its magnificent construction, complex structure, pious atmosphere and delicate artworks. Originally, the King Songtsen Gampo built it in the seventh century and later the Fifth Dalai Lama repaired it in 1645. Its present size was enlarged by the thirteenth Dalai Lama. Gradually, it has become the political center in Tibet and the seat of Dalai Lamas. It is mainly made up of the Red Palace and the White Palace and covers an area of about 25 acres.
Drepung Monastery: Lies approximately 10 km west suburb of Lhasa under Mt. Gambo Utse, clustered round by the black mountain. Built in 1416. It is used to be the living palace of Dalai Lamas before moving into the Potala palace. Drepung Monastery is considered as one of the largest monasteries among the six principle monasteries of Gelu Sect in Tibet.
Day 10 Lhasa – sightseeing continued.
After large number of tasty breakfast with a choice of tea and coffee we continue our our seconday sightseeing in Lhasa in the following locations.
The Sera Monastery: is well known for its distinctive debating on Buddhist doctrines. Debating on Buddhist doctrines is a discussion on the understanding of Buddhism, and also an effective way to increase Lama's knowledge on Buddhist studies. During the debates, both sides engage in a war of words, and usually, they use body gestures to strengthen their ideas. The heated discussion deeply moves visitors.
Norbulingka Park: is a very picturesque garden built over 200 years ago.Under the careful construction of the Dalai Lamas, the attractions inside the park include palaces, pavilions, villas and various trees and flowers.It is really a nice place to experience the Tibetan culture and have fun. Jokhang Temple: is a typical Tibetan Buddhist temple, which bears unparalleled status in the Tibetan Buddhism. Constructed in 647 during the Tang Dynasty, the Jokhang Temple was built as a memorial to the Princess Bhrikuti of Nepal and Princess Wencheng of the Tang Dynasty. As the oldest wooden complex of Tibet, the temple covers an area of over 25,100 square meters (6.2 acres). The main hall has four floors and a gold-plating roof, looking rather spectacular.
Barkhor Street : A wonderful place for shopping in Lhasa is the Barkhor Street. At first, it was just the lodging area for pilgrims. Gradually, it became a trading center of the local people. Nowadays, merchants, pilgrims and travelers from the central plain of China, Mongolia, Bhutan, India and Nepal have made it a very prosperous street. Tibet Museum: To know the history and the development of Tibet, Tibet Museum is suggested visiting. It houses a large amount of invaluable treasures. Visitors can find all kinds of cultural heritage in prehistoric times, ancient religious books written in gold, silver or coral powders, Buddha statues made from diverse materials, colorful Thangkas and many handicrafts with distinctive ethnic flavors.
