Our representatives will receive you at the Kathmandu International Airport with a warm welcome, and immediately drive you to your luxurious hotel. Our team will give you an introduction of this city and tell you more about the historical, religious, and cultural sites of the valley that have been enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Upon reaching hotel, you will again be oriented on the trip arrangements and the details of the trek.
Day 02: Kathmandu-Lukla – Phagding.
After hearty breakfast, we begin by another briefing session on the details of the programs with all the do’s and don’ts so as to make the trip more fulfilling and rewarding for you. Sightseeing mythical Kathmandu Valley is incredible and unforgettable, as it involves being in proximity to many UNESCO World Heritage sites like Durbar Square, Swoyambhunath temple, Pashupatinath temple, and Boudhinath. All day long, you get to be enthralled by the uniqueness of these historical and religious sites. You will be very moved by the depth of ancient art and culture present here in the valley.
Day 03: Phagding – Namche Bazar.
(3440m)In the early morning, we take the spectacular and breathtaking flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2827m) flying parallel to the Himalayan giants bordering Nepal and Tibet. Flight time is about 40 minutes to the airstrip built by Sir Edmund Hillary and the Sherpas in the mid-1960s. After landing, we will have time to explore the village, while the Sherpa crew sort and load the trekking equipment. In the afternoon, we follow the valley of the Dudh Kosi river, climb steeply over a rocky ridge, the trail continues alongside the river, and we find villages interspersed with magnificent forests of rhododendron, magnolia and giant firs. We cross the Kyashar Khola river and climb out of the valley to Monjo (2840m). Now the trek enters the Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park, and makes a steep rocky descent, and crosses the Dhud Kosi river on a suspension bridge towards Jorsale (2830m). After crossing this river, and way up the valley we reach vibrant Namche Bazaar (3440m) with numerous shops, hotels and restaurants, and will also have our lodge for our overnight stay.
Day 04: Namche – Thame excursion – Khumjung.
(3786m)After a hearty breakfast, we begin our trek by walking towards Thami (3810m), continuing up the beautiful Nangpo river through undisturbed little villages, to the lovely village of Theme. We make our trip to the monastery perched on the hillside above (one of the best active Gompas in Khumbu) with marvelous paintings and a path winding along the longest carved mani wall in the country. On the way back from monastery, we detour to the ridge line that separates the village from the amazing long view of Nangpa La pass and Mt. Cho Oyu. We return down by the river before contouring above Namche to reach the less touristy twin villages of Kunde and Khumjung (3780m), a fabulous village populated by more affluent Sherpa families, and dominated by the magnificent peaks of Mt. Ama Dablam. Those who took the short option straight up from Namche will be recommended to go up to one of the many view- points to savor in the glimpses of stunning peaks including Mt. Everest as well as to boost your altitude-acclimatization-process.
Day 05: Trek to Thyangbuche. (3860m).
Route to Thyanbuche weaves in and out of valley making small ups and downs and joins the trail from Namche, which descends and cross the Bhote Koshi river. We stop for Lunch at Phungutanga, from where the panoramic view of the majestic Mt. Everest and Mt. Ama Dablam is magnificent. After our lunch, the trail climbs steeply through forests and around fabulous mani stones as it follows the side of a hill to the saddle on which the monastery of Thyanboche (3870 m) sits on. The sunset on the fantastic panorama of mountains surrounding us like Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse(8501m), Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Kwangde (6187m), and Mt. Tawachee (6542m), is not to be missed.
Day 06: Trek to Dingbuche. (4220m).
We make our way down through the forested hillside to the majestic pick of Mt. Ama Dablam ahead of us. Then, we continue up through beautiful mossy forests as the landscape starts to feel distinctly more elevated. The dramatic towers of Mt. Ama Dablam dominates the skyline as the valley splits into Imja to the right and the Khumbu to the left. We will be heading up the Khumbu towards Everest, and this would be the right place to acclimatize ourselves to higher altitude. Of the two villages that splits out from the valley, Dingboche (4345m) by the Imja Khola river is nicer. So, we choose Dingboche as our base for two nights and make ourselves restful in one of the comfortable lodges on the way up.
Day 07: Around Dingbuche.
After breakfast, we take whole day excursion towards Chukhung. This will be an excellent option for a day long trip from Dingboche, which will take us up to some wonderful view points, from where we could catch beautiful views of the mammoth mountains surrounding us. Chukhung (4735m) will also be an ideal way to optimize the acclimatization benefits.
Day 08: Trek to Labuche. (4930m).
Today will be our final day before reaching base camp area of Mt. Everest. We start out by rounding off the ridge above Dingboche, and contour along wide grassy slopes all the way to Duglha (4595m). We then climb steeply up the terminal moraine at the snout of the Khumbu glacier, until we come out alongside a ridge lined by numerous cairns dedicated to the many Sherpas who have lost their lives attempting to climb Mt. Everest and other peaks. We continue alongside the glacier finally to reach Lobuche (49300 m).
Day 09: Labuche-Everest base camp- Gorekshep (5160m).
The first section of the trail follows the western side of the broad Khumbu valley and ascents gently through meadows besides the glacial moraine. The ascent becomes steeper and rougher as it crosses several side moraines. We will be walking deliberately slow in a steady rhythm taking plenty of short breaks to watch the view gradually unfolding before us as we move up. After rounding a bend in the trail, the conical peak of Mt. Pumori comes into view. On the lower slopes of this mountain, there will be a ridge extending to the south and terminating in a small peak known as Kalapathar (5545m), which means 'black rock'. As we approach the top, a stunning 360 degree panorama awaits us with fascinating free-standing form of Mt. Pumori directly in front of us, and the magnificent Khumbu glacier with the vast black pyramid of Everest itself. The trail then makes a short descent onto the sandy and flat expanse of Gorak Shep, from here we will continue towards Everest Base Camp. We return back to Gorak Shep using up to 4 hours of walk and spend overnight in the lodge.
Day 10: Gorekshep- Kalapather- Dzongla (4838m).
Crossing an open and unexpected sand flat, we start to climb on a good well-trodden path towards Kalapathar. Today too, we walk slowly enjoying the view unfolding right before us. The final slopes of our trail become rocky as we approach the top, which will decked in colorful prayer flags. The view we get from here would be stunning with Mt. Pumori directly in front of us, Mt. Khangtse of Tibet, wide space of Khumbu glacier, and the vast black pyramid of Everest itself. Sunset on Everest from here will be pure magical as the tip of the peak becomes colorful – gold to pink and subtly fading with the light. We spend as long as we want here rejoicing the moment of this pure magnificence before strolling down towards Dzong La Pass, a small yersa where we spend the night in a simple lodge. This will be our one of the toughest days, however, it will also be filled with most amazing views of the entire trek.
Day 11: Chola Pass (5420m) -Gokyo (4875m).
Woke up at 4:45 am and get ready to continue on our journey up the ridge behind Dzong la Pass, and then through the valley heading towards the Cho La Pass. As we walk further, the trail starts to gain altitude, and after about an hour, the trail gets steeper and rocky. Having cross the rock-face we hit the glacier, take deep breath and walk over the glaciers to enjoy Chola Pass with view of mountains on our both sides. At end of the flat glacier, we end up other side considerably steeper than the side we came up on. We take our careful steps descending, while enjoying the beautiful views up-close. We arrive at Gokyo, which will have our lodge for a good night rest.
Day 12: Trek to Gokyo Peak (4180m).
The route up to Gokyo peak (Gokyo Ri) starts directly across the river which we cross by stepping on the stones, and begin the ascent immediately after crossing. The path will be good, keeping a steady incline winding up the hill. As with all Himalayan ascents, we set a deliberately slow and sustainable pace, taking plenty of short rests to allow us to really savor the gradually unfolding beautiful views all around us. The south face of Mt. Cho Oyu towering directly in front of us begins the stunning 360 degree view with Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse and Mt. Makalu and the sheer sides of Mt. Cholatse and Mt. Taboche. After spending enough time at this juncture, we make our slow descend towards Gokyo.
Day 13: Dole (4180m).Decent down to Dole.
Day 14: Trek to Namche.
Day 15: Lukla.
Day 16. Lukla - Kathmandu.
Day 18: In and around Kathmandu City.
These last days of the trek will be very rewarding and memorable as you get to visit the historical and religious places of Patan and Bhaktapur city (other cities within the Kathmandu Valley). Our visit will include some popular destinations in Patan like Durbar Square, Golden Temple, Mahaboudha Temple, and Krishna Mandir. And, in Bhaktapur, we stop at Surya Binayak Temple, Peacock Window temples, Nyatapola, and hill resort of Nagarkot. A visit to the National Art Gallery (museum filled with wood carvings) and the Bronze and Brass museum is an experience not to be missed, while you are in Kathmandu. In the evening, guests could enjoy more sightseeing and go around the town for more shopping and more discovery of unique culture and tradition of the Kathmandu valley. There will be even more fancy restaurants and bars for you to rest, and truly relax for the last time around.
Day 19: Last Day in Kathmandu City.
You will have another whole day of sightseeing to continue from where you left. You could carry on with our more sightseeing of all the religious sites we might have missed, as there will be plenty of world heritage sites to visit for you.
