Trip Facts

  • Grade:Moderate
  • Activity: Trekking
  • Altitude:5550m
  • Group Size:15+1 pax
This is the most thrilling trek through the most exciting and awesome landscape on earth to the base of the world’s highest mountain Mt. Everest (8848 m). The trail all the way in amongst the peaks from the start is magnificent. The magnificent ancient Buddhist monastries, amazing mani stones, beautiful chortens and colourful prayer flags along the trails makes the journey more mystic, mythic and highly rewarding. Staying with the charming people in the tranquil and serene Sherpa villages, mountain lodges and camping along the trails for two weeks is an unforgettable and ecstatic experience. The stunning close up view of the vast black pyramid of Everest itself and the most spectacular alpine scenery of Khumbu Glacier cascading below is indeed irresistible and splendid. A dramatic 360 degree panoramic view of a cluster of the stunning snow-capped peaks and ridges in the backdrop is incredibly superb.
After exploring the great historic and religious sites along with the culture and traditions of the medieval capital of Kathmandu, we take an exciting mountain flight to the the gateway to the Everest region Lukla, and start our spectacular journey to Namche Bazar, the delightful Sherpa capital and to Khumjung where we acclimatize well with an excursion to Theme. The trail follows the course of the fabulous River Doodh Kosi, gradually ascending through a most bewitching landscape of rhododendron and magnolia forests. We visit the great Thyangboche Monastry, the sacred religious center for Buddhism, before another planned acclimatization day at the last village of Dingboche, where we have options to Chukhung or to cliffhanging Nangkartshang gompa. Gradually ascending alongside the placid glacier we wind our way up to the famous panoramic view from Kalapathar, the awesome and magnanimous South Face of Everest, the vast black triangle, and now below us our paradise our final destination, the famous and fascinating Everest Base Camp (5550 m) at the foot of the magnificent Khumbu icefall.
