everest1This is the most thrilling and challenging trek through the most exciting and awesome landscape on earth to the base of the world’s highest mountain Mt. Everest (8848 m).The trail all the way in amongst the peaks from the start is excellent and fabulous. The magnificent ancient Buddhist monastries, amazing mani stones, beautiful chortens and colourful prayer flags along the trails makes the journey more mystic, mythic and highly rewarding. Walking through the bewitching rhododendron and magnolia forests and staying with the charming people in the tranquil and serene Sherpa villages, mountain lodges and camping along the trails for over two weeks is an unforgettable and ecstatic experience. A dramatic and spectacular 360 degree panoramic view of a bunch of picturesque snow-capped peaks and ridges from Gokyo is incredibly superb and irresistible as it incredibly encompasses all the viewpoints of the Everest Base Camp trek including the stunning close up view of the North Face of the vast black pyramid of Everest itself with the most spectacular alpine scenery of Khumbu Glacier cascading below plus the thrilling Cho La pass and the stunning Gokyo valley with its panoramic view points: Cho Oyu (8201m), Lhotse (8516m), Makalu (8463m) and thousands more: sheer vertical faces, sculpted pinnacles above the crystalline lakes. The view from the “nameless towers” above the 4th lake is also better- as more of the Tibetan north face is visible.

After exploring the great historic and religious sites along with the culture and traditions of the medieval capital of Kathmandu, we take an exciting mountain flight to the Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. We start our exotic journey following the course of the great River Doodh Kosi to Namche Bazaar, the vibrant center of Sherpa capital and to Khumjung where we acclimatize well with an excursion to Theme. We gradually ascend through a most bewitching landscape of rhododendron and magnolia forests and visit the great Thyangboche Monastry, one of the most sacred religious center of Buddhism before another planned acclimatization day at the last village of Dingboche. There we head over the Cho La pass-strenuous stuff but amazing to pick our way to among these ice peaks to come face to face with the stunning towers of Ama Dublam. Gradually ascending alongside the placid and sparkling glacier we cross Kalapathar (5550m) to have the close-up view of the majestic and magnanimous back face of Everest, and then veer off the main trail to cross the Cho La pass (5,422m) into the Gokyo Valley. To top off this unique trek we ascend to the famous and fascinating Gokyo Ri (5,488m) our destination our paradise for a panoramic view of the greatest mountain scenery in the world - including five 8000+m giants and myriad of other stunning peaks of the Khumbu Himalayan region.
